Brother HL-2270DW Driver Download
Brother Printer Reviews– Brother has a history of batch capacity packaging in its low-cost printers, which leaves the Brother HL-2270DW with high expectations to live up to. And living by them, he does. A close cousin of the Brother HL-2240 (which I recently reviewed, offers all the strengths that made the HL-2240 a Editors ‘Choice, and more, adding them for a small extra cost, making it as much a bargain and a shoe as Publishers’ Choice itself.
The HL-2270DW is the same small size as the HL-2240, with the same 250-sheet input tray and 1-sheet manual feed tray with no paper handling options. At 7.2 by 14.5 by 14.2 inches (HWD), it takes up less space than most inkjets, so you can easily share a table with it. It is also fast and offers a reasonably high-quality output across the line, beating the HL-2240 for just a little bit in both ratings.
For the relatively small additional price compared to the HL-2240, the HL-2270DW adds an internal duplexer for printing on both sides of the page and Ethernet and WiFi connections for easy sharing in a small office. This is more than enough to make a distinction between the HL-2240 as a definitely personal printer and the HL-2270DW is an equally good choice as a shared printer in a micro office, on the one hand, or a personal user printer El Power in any office size, on the other.
Setting up the printer on a network is a standard fee. I tested it with an Ethernet connection using a system running Windows Vista. In the new version of our suite of business applications (using QualityLogic hardware and software for the schedule), it reached an efficiency of 11.7 pages per minute (ppm). This is a very good clip and consistent with the 27 ppm engine rating, which should be close to what you will see to print text documents without graphics or photos.

Brother HL-2270DW Manuals
The Brother HL-2270DW Modern photos, Tricolor, and high-capacity ink cartridges can be charged anywhere from $20 to $100 per recharge, so multiply them by the volume of your prints and try not to stay on the actual operating costs. Alternatively, completing a printer setup with a cheap black-and-white laser printer can cut costs in the Home Office that cycles through black ink cartridges with text-only documents. Although not without flaws such as the poor output graphics document, Brother HL-2270DW balances with quick and simple text printing 802.11 b/g wireless for $149.99.
Brother HL-2270DW Design
HL-2270DW is the same overall size and design as Brother HL-2170W, with a 32MB onboard memory and an 802.11 b/g wireless interface. As far as laser printers go, the machine is somewhat small at 6.7 inches tall, 14.5 inches wide, and weighs only £15. Designwise, Brother pulled away from the classic grey Colorway, chose to finish the matte black instead.
The front lip folds down to reveal the toner port, and like most laser printers, you can remove the paper tray, located in the face of the unit, to refill the toner. You may not need to recharge too often considering the printer can hold 250 standard 8.5-by-11-inch paper sheets. There is also a manual-feed paper slot that handles a variety of different paper sizes including Letter, legal, Executive, A4, A5, A6, B5, B6, and envelopes. We print over 150 pages during our Lab testing and have never experienced congestion or delays in the paper.
Unfortunately, Brother only offers a toner cartridge “starter ” with a unit that can only last about 1,000 pages. After that, you should purchase your own standard Cartridge for $49 which can produce around 1,500 pages, to be accepted 3.3 cents per page. You can also save money by purchasing higher yield toner cartridges that can run around 2,600 pages until you have to spend $68 on its successor.
The HL-2270DW’s control panel is just as simple as the body itself, featuring the All-Inclusive “Go ” button which also controls recovery errors, builds, undo jobs, Wireless on/off, and manual feed, with three small LEDs for the toner, drums, and rounding fault status of the panels. As stated, this is not afloat in the flashiest parade – it’s designed with utilities, not fashion, in mind.
Brother HL-2270DW Features
HL-2270DW includes 32MB of internal memory so you can send more documents through the printer and generally accelerate the overall printing process. Most monochrome laser printers don’t come with a lot of fancy features, but Brother HL-2270W includes three networking options to connect them to your computer: 2.0 USB Cable, 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet, and Wireless 802.11 b/g. These printers are also MAC-, Windows-, and even Linux-Compatible.
Connecting the printer to our wireless network gives us a little trouble thanks to the standard Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) which allows you to create enhancements to your home network in a few easy steps laid out in the accompanying instruction manual and assisted by the on-screen drivers. As long as you have your network name and the SSID password in hand, you should be able to connect the printer and computer wirelessly as we did, in less than 10 minutes with ease. You can also use an AirStation OneTouch Secure System (AOSS) If you have a Buffalo network wireless router.
Brother HL-2270DW Performance
HL-2270DW has a faster speed than its predecessor at 200MHz, so it is done a little better on 18.64 pages per minute (ppm) for pages of All Black text, 19.03 ppm for pages of all graphics, and 18.15 ppm in our PowerPoint presentation tests. However, both Brother continued to use the OIC editors ‘ Choice B431DN who had listed Chart-topping on more than 30 ppm in three test results.
HL-2270DW is well done in our text quality tests; The samples we printed on standard 20-pound paper with a quality set to “Best” are evenly dark with clear fonts all the way to the 2-Point Times New Roman. Each letter is also free of line breaks and fuzzy edges. Our graphic samples are printed, however, not fare as well. The gradient step was so sudden that a severe box pattern appeared where the printer obviously could not handle the transition. The small photos we printed appear blurred in the shadow areas alongside the overall digital effect. HL-2270DW also does not appear normally in our 12-step shadow test. Hard banding quickly appeared on the 40 percent shade of the sign and continued to become worse as the percentage increased.
Like HL-2170w, this printer will make the most sense as secondary, just text printers to store money on paper and ink in the long run, but PowerPoint presentations, photographs, and graphics-heavy newsletters should be stored for powerful inkjet printers with multiple color cartridges and nozzles that can handle precise details. All-in-one alternative printers are practical if saving space is a factor.
