But you would not want to hand them over to an important customer: we saw an unacceptable posterization and obvious hesitation, among other problems. The Samsung ML-2250, on the other hand, won fair reviews for photos and the high end of the graphics fair.

We also noticed a tendency to page curl. Brother says he is aware of this problem and is taking steps to correct it in future production series. Assuming that the problem is solved, the HL-2040 is an attractive option as a personal laser if text printing is your primary concern. But as it is now, you can only recommend it with reservations.
